The Greene County wrestling team swept the Ram Duals Tuesday, defeating North Polk, Roland-Story and West Central Valley. Brock Wuebker (170) improved his season record to 19-1 with three falls, all in the first period.
The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament was scheduled to be held at Saydel Friday night. League officials cancelled the event due to the hazardous weather forecast. It will not be made up.
Coach Zach Beekman said, “We certainly would have liked to have had the conference tournament, but sometimes that’s the way it goes. It does give us a little more rest time gearing up for the last week of the regular season and the sectionals in Ida Grove on February 2.”
The Class 2A sectional for Greene County will be held at OABCIG high school in Ida Grove on Saturday, Feb. 2, beginning at noon. Districts will be Feb. 9 at Harlan.
